DUBAI – His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai, has directed Dubai Police to strengthen its position as a global leader in utilising artificial intelligence and technology to enhance community safety and service quality.

He underscored the importance of continuously upgrading the skills of Dubai Police personnel and equipping them with cutting-edge tools and knowledge to operate advanced systems efficiently.

The Crown Prince emphasised that such efforts are vital to realising Dubai’s ambition of becoming a global model in technology-driven excellence and the best city in the world to live, work and visit.

Technology and talent

The directive came during a high-level meeting chaired by the Crown Prince, attended by Omar Sultan Al Olama, Minister of State for Artificial Intelligence, Digital Economy and Remote Work Applications; Lieutenant General Abdullah Khalifa Al Marri, Commander-in-Chief of Dubai Police; and Khalfan Belhoul, CEO of Dubai Future Foundation.

During the session, His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum was briefed on Dubai Police’s latest technological advancements, AI initiatives, and digital platforms serving the public. He praised the force’s achievements and called for continued innovation, urging investment in national talent capable of building a future-ready security ecosystem.

“We are proud of Dubai Police’s progress and look forward to it becoming a global model in harnessing AI and advanced technology,” the Crown Prince said. “Creating a smart security system requires empowering innovative minds, fostering creativity, and driving excellence in every aspect of policing.”

Smarter, safer Dubai

Dubai Police have been at the forefront of adopting digital transformation, from predictive crime detection to AI-powered smart patrol systems and fully integrated online services. These initiatives support Dubai’s wider strategy to enhance public trust, operational efficiency, and safety through cutting-edge innovation.

The force’s smart systems have also been recognised internationally, with several awards for technological excellence and service innovation.

Making Dubai the world’s best city

Sheikh Hamdan’s directive aligns with the broader vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, who last month called for intensified efforts to make Dubai the best city in the world across all sectors.

During the Mohammed bin Rashid Leadership Forum, Sheikh Mohammed urged officials, entrepreneurs and private sector leaders to adopt world-class benchmarks and work collaboratively to strengthen Dubai’s position as the world’s most beautiful and advanced city.

Echoing this vision, Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to continuous innovation, cohesive teamwork and human-centred progress – ensuring the emirate remains a global symbol of safety, intelligence and forward-thinking leadership.
